About Me
Hi, I'm Rosie!
NHS Midwife (BSc Hons Midwifery) & Mum-of-two
Hello, I'm Rosie! I am the founder of Your Local Midwife. I am a practising NHS Midwife with 10 years experience in midwifery care, Wife to my wonderful husband, Matt, and Mummy to my two little monkeys, Evie and Alfie (in the pic on your left!).
My Story

From the very first day of my midwifery training, I knew I loved birth. The fact that our bodies can grow a baby, and then — when the time is right — begin a process that brings a brand-new, wrinkly, squidgey human into the world still completely amazes me. I’ve worked in maternity care for 10 years, and I still cry at most of the births I’m lucky enough to be a part of.
That deep love for birth, alongside a passion for empowering women and families, is what led me to create Your Local Midwife. It’s a space where I bring together everything I’ve learned from years working within the maternity system — my clinical experience, evidence-based knowledge, and real-life understanding — to support you through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood.
Pregnancy and birth can feel exciting, overwhelming, daunting… often all at once. I’ve seen firsthand how good preparation can make a huge difference — not by guaranteeing a “perfect” birth, but by helping you feel informed, confident, and able to communicate your preferences, even when plans change. Knowledge really can change everything.

When I was pregnant myself, antenatal classes gave us something incredibly valuable: our village. The friends we could message at 3am, who were in it with us — and many of whom we are still close with today. But the teaching itself left me wanting more. I realised how important it is that antenatal education is led by someone with both professional experience and genuine passion for supporting families — not just information read from a page.
As both a midwife and a mum (with two very different birth experiences of my own), I understand that no two journeys are the same. Early motherhood can be messy, emotional, and full of questions — and that lived experience shapes how I support you. There’s no judgement here, just honest, practical guidance and reassurance when you need it.
Whether you’re joining an antenatal course, booking 1:1 pregnancy support, or using my digital resources, my aim is always the same: to help you feel safe, supported, and confident as you approach birth and beyond. I’ll answer your questions, help you understand your options, and walk alongside you with warmth, clarity, and care.
That’s what makes Your Local Midwife different — trust, knowledge, and safety, brought together with genuine passion and excitement. I can’t wait to support you on this journey.
